Cause and Effect Outline

THE HAZE


Introduction
1.      Haze occurred when there are particles and sunlight encounters in the air.
2.      Haze was determined by Air Pollution Index (API) which can be retrieved hourly or daily data readings. (NSW Government, 13th November 2015)
3.      In this year, our country face a very big issue of haze which mostly coming from neighbor country, Indonesia and causing health problem and flight delay.
Body
1.      In Southeast, Indonesia is the biggest contributor to this problem due to high demand on the use of plantation for oil and burning the forest has been the easiest and quick way to clear the forest.
a)      It was said by a researcher from Center for International Forestry Research that by using fire to clear the forest is 10 times faster and cheaper rather than use of machine.
b)      Haze is occurring annually but it getting worsen with the presence of El Nino that brought drought.
2.      The biggest effect of haze is health problem.
a)      Haze release small particles of dangerous element such as sulfates that being carried by wind.
b)      The small particles can travel thousands miles from their origin and could ended anywhere they being brought.
c)      As human breathing every second, the small particles could also enter to our body and give bad effect to the lung.
d)      However, skin also can absorb the particles and causing skin cancer.
3.      Due to decrease in visibility, flight need to be delayed to avoid risks.
a)      Due to low visibility, about 29 flights were delayed or cancelled in Kuala Lumpur.
b)      Meanwhile in Singapore, it was reported that two private jets was diverted to Changi Airport also due to low visibility. (The Star, 15th September 2015)
Conclusion
1.      To be concluded, there are several effects from haze that can be seen clearly which is health problems and delayed in flight.
2.      However, even is the haze mainly from Indonesia, not only Indonesia are facing the same problem, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand also share the haze problem.
3.       So, some actions should be taken to handle this problem so that it would not causing more problems in the future.
